wonderful installations

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. Lots of work to do for my final major project, and lots of sorting out student finance and accomodation. I'm starting to feel like I know where I'm going with my final pieces now and shall show you what I've been up to soon. For now I thought I'd show you some art that has interested me lately, stepping aside from 2D illustration for once;

"Captured Dreams" by Eibatova Karina (aka Eika Dopludo) is a real "why didn't I think of that!" moment for me. Depciting visions from dreams on pillowcases. Genius.

This piece by Igor Eskinja is truly a work of optical illusion; the skill and precision in the paint here is insane! Like graphic art brought into a 3D realm.

The Imagined Nostalgia series by Lucien Smith and Jack Siegel really does live up to its namesake. I can't help but get a feeling of the 90s and carefree times from this.

Exhibitions like these really make me want to travel, as all the shows that interest me are in London or overseas!
