reportage brief week one

My current brief at uni is to fill a sketchbook over three weeks, documenting my everyday life and things I see through drawing. I've found it really interesting and in a weird way, kind of t therapeutic so far. These are some of my favourites from week one. I've done half a sketchbook so far, need to chill out a bit!

For my second week I've decided to prep a few pages with different textures and surfaces, I'm also planning to go to the zoo. Will keep you posted in due course!

under that cloud

(photos from the manchester art gallery website as I couldn't take my own)

Under That Cloud is a current exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery showcasing jewelry crafted by a selection of artists who were stranded by volcanic ash in Mexico City almost two years ago.

It was really interesting to read their responses to such a bizarre situation to be in, but most of them generally took it as a positive experience to create works based upon it.

More info on this exhibition here.

keaton henson

Illustrator and musician Keaton Henson is quite an peculiar character, known for not liking to talk about his work much. I found this interview really interesting. He refused to meet up for an interview or answer questions with words, so he decided to illustrate his responses. Image associating with notes is something I am trying out with my working process at the moment! It is really quite fun and you should try it.
