how to make a photocopy
For our latest brief we had to give basic instructions on how to either boil an egg, tie a shoelace, make a photocopy, make a cup of tea, make a sandwich or change a lightbulb. We had to do so in a way that is hasn't been looked at before and is visually interesting.
I went for how to make a photocopy (obviously). I made observational drawings of people in the university library making photocopies and such, then tried the refine the images further. I thought it was really interesting to use discarded photocopies people have left behind, so I tried to incorporate these into make work, letting the text and shapes found create a narrative, rather than just giving direct instructions.
I then comprised these images into a little zine. I had fun with this one, and the new brief we've been set is very exciting! I'll reveal more in due time.

third and final week of reportage brief
Sorry it took me a while to post the drawings from the last week of my reportage brief! I think my drawings got stronger later in the book, I grew more confident with the types of lines I was making. Most of these were drawn in a cafe and were a bit more intimate, I was really pleased that I got some people's faces and expressions. I've generally enjoyed this brief and although it is over I will definitely continue to draw from life of the things I see day to day...to think I used to find my references with a google image search!

new fashion blog
I've decided to create a seperate style and fashion blog here. I've decided this blog should be based more around my work and illustration in general.
Also, you may have noticed I've finally put together a new header! Just something basic for now.

passer bys
I made a zine comprising of what I thought were my best drawings from the reportage brief, adding a bit of a narrative. I'll also make a final post of my drawings from week three so you can see the details.
