how are you

For my latest brief, I wanted to see if illustration could improve people's daily commute. I myself commute for an hour and a half on the train to uni so I can relate to this subject. I think if someone sees something in the morning that cheers them up or make them think, it can affect their mood for the rest of the day.

I created a series of three zines and dispensed them on trains and snuck them in the metro newspaper over the course of three days. The documentation of my process can be seen on a side blog here.

I also compiled images from all three zines into one bigger zine so if there is enough interest I may sell them online!

manchester weekender

I have seen a fair bit of art over the past few days! Several exhibtions and fairs around Manchester were on as part of the Manchester Weekender.

I was delighted to see some of my favourite paper craft artists, such as Sue Blackwell, Rob Ryan and Noriko Ambe at the Manchester gallery as part of The First Cut, personally the best exhibition I've seen there in a while. Also at The Cornerhouse were the delightful drawings and installations of illustrator David Shrigley. Both of these exhibtions are on for longer, I myself may go back to see them.

I also popped by the Manchester Artists Book fair at the Holden Gallery at MMU and Another Common Afair at Common in the Northern Quarter, picked up a few zines!

Speaking of zines I'm working of finishing my current project before my Friday deadline. eek.
